Thomas Max Adler (1942-2018)

Tom was born to Max George and Marjorie Ruth (Wilson) Adler in Albia on Jan. 14, 1942. He graduated from Albia High School. He married Constance Geyer on June 18, 1961. He worked at Nixon Feed, Williams Clothing, Farm Bureau Insurance Company, Morehead Auction Company, and most recently Murphy Auction Company and Sinnott Funeral Home.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was past President of the Rotary Club in Albia, Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce member for many years, member of the Masonic Astor Lodge No. 505 of Albia, and most recently the Albia City Council.Tom is survived by his wife, Connie Adler of Albia; children, Jeff (Lynn) Adler of Lovilia, Jill (Marc) Wynn of Lovilia; grandchildren, Nick (Michelle) Beary, Katie Beary, Makenna Adler, Nathaniel and Luke Wynn; great-grandchildren, Grace and Nicholas Beary; brother, Dr. William (Vicki) Adler of Albia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roxie and Fred Pirnat of Normal, Ill., Cindy (Dick) Kading of Coralville; nieces and nephews, Julie and David Adler, Karen Zolfraghari, Becky White and John Kading, and great nieces and nephews, Owen Adler, Hunter Adler and Brooke Zolfraghari. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, John Todd Adler.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Pastor Richard Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018, opening to the public at 1 p.m., with Tom’s family greeting friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday evening.Memorials may be directed to the Welcome Home Soldier Monument or the Albia Trap Shooting Team. Online condolences may be left for the family at sinnottfuneralhome.com. Pallbearers will be Richard Coltrain, Dean Lathrop, Denny Hollinrake, David Adler, Justen Murphy and Bob Sinnott.
